Ethiopia-Tit-Bits

Ethiopia was not on my original travel plan. I chose to fly with Ethiopian airlines as it had the cheapest flight from Nairobi to Hong Kong. When I discovered I did not need a visa to Ethiopia, I decided to book my transit flight for later in the evening. This would allow me to have a day in Ethiopia.I would be travelling with the assistance of a crutch, thus physical challenges is not an excuse.

Tit Bits

1. Ethiopia is officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

2. Kenyans do not require a visa to visit Ethiopia.

3.It is the most populous landlocked country in the world and the second most populous country in Africa.

4.Its largest communities are Amhara and Oromo with its official languages being Amharic.

Hi-Selam

Thank You-Amesegenalehu

Yes:Eshi

Im sorry-Aznalehu

5.They are dominantly Christian.

6.They are quite conservative so consider this as you dress up.

7. Their national carrier is Ethiopian airlines and actually offers cheaper flights than most to various world destinations. Their customer service can pass but I would highly recommend some more training. They hardly smile and they are not friendly.Being that they are in the Service Industry,Customer service should be at its best thus I was highly disappointed.

8. At the airport, the staff also need some serious customer service training. First, they announce without speakers thus one can easily not hear any announcement.Kindly could something be done, chances of missing your flight are high. Two, the land staff will not assist if you ask a question or guidance. Thirdly, the flow of information is one of the poorest I have ever seen. Our flight was delayed for several hours and they neither informed nor shared the issue with us. After several attempts by people to enquire, they remained silent. They seemed unsure even then, which flight we would be using. Dismal  performance in my books.
